Since the 8th Party Representative Congress was held (in November of 2006), the traffic and transportation in Yunnan has undergone a fast speed of development. Many achievements have been made during the period and all of tasks have been completed in advance or have beat the targets. Meanwhile, there are 17 motorways including Sixiao Motorway which have been built one by one. The newly-built motorways are totally 1,209km long and the motorways which are open to the traffic have been reached to 2,630km long.
