On September 26, the Engineering Conference on “Developing the Frontier’s Economy and Bettering the People‘s Life” during “the Twelfth Five” period in Yunnan was held in Kunming.

“The six year during the period of carrying out the project of “Developing the Frontier’s Economy and Bettering the People’s Life” is the time when the frontier region develops fastest, the mass benefits most and the frontier changes most enormously”, said Qin Guangrong on the conference, the Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party of Congress, who is also Secretary of Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress. During “the Twelfth Five” period, the key construction will be laid on building the border-level highways, gradually realizing linking the border counties/cities, forming the comprehensive traffic and transportation network connecting in and out, and covering the urban and rural areas.
